Luke 4 says that Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, is led by the Spirit into the desert and comes out of the desert in the power of the Spirit. The desert had a purpose.
There are three things you can learn in the desert:
- That spiritual significance is greater than physical gratification. Luke 4:2
- To put God first. To worship only Him. Our primary pursuit must be God Himself. He must be first. When he is…everything else falls into place. Luke 4:5-8
- To trust God and not test God. To trust Him means to lay down your plan and follow Him wholeheartedly. It means saying YES, without any buts, what ifs or conditions. Luke 4:9-12
